Rakesh Katyayani is an Associate Professor, Accommodations. He has the additional responsibility of being Course Leader for the B.A. (Hons) degree programme in Hotel Management. He also delivers the modules Corporate Governance, Facilities Management, and Human Resource Management at Intermediate and Honors level.
In his early career, Rakesh worked as front office associate at Taj Khajuraho, Chandela. In 2001, he moved as a duty manager to Radisson, Aurangabad. He returned to the Taj group at Taj Residency, Aurangabad in 2003 in the capacity of assistant front office manager and 4 years hence was promoted as front office Manager in 2007. He joined IHM Aurangabad in 2009 and was promoted as Head of the Department, Accommodation in 2011. He also handled various roles such as Training & Placement and Development & Implementation of Internship Structure which are essential elements of the programme.
Rakesh Katyayani’s achievements during his career include TABE (Tata Awards for Business Excellence) for customer information system and best practices under TPAM which was initiated by him for controlling the loss of revenue and was adopted by Taj Group of Hotels for operations audits.
Masters in Personnel Management, Post Graduate Diploma in Taxation Laws, Program on Revenue Management and Dynamic Pricing – IIM Ahmedabad, Certificate Course in Research Methodology, MA in Education and M. Sc. in Tourism and Hospitality Management.
