Alumni Testimonials

    • Ananya Kukreja

      Intern, Taj Mahal, Lucknow

“The summer of 2019 brought me the opportunity to have interned with yet another property - Taj Mahal, Lucknow. The sheer fact that I belong to the IHM- Aurangabad community, allowed me a strong standing among the managerial hierarchy. I developed my exposure in the Front Office and Sales and Marketing departments of the hotel, where I learned the professionalism and various ongoing activities of the areas, along with the technical skills needed. My responsibilities were not just restricted to monotonous tasks of daily work, but also included guest compliant handling and taking operational action decisions. The Sales and Marketing team without incertitude allowed me to make deals with clients and also handle reservations. My association with the college and its reputation in the industry, created a trusting confidence and understanding between my colleagues and I from the very first day, which in-turn provided me with a fulfilled learning experience.“

    • Naomi Gajjar

“The name IHM-A isn't just a name, it's a respect that you earn. And you don't realize this till you step out in the outside world.” “This summer I decided to intern with the Gateway Hotel, Surat in the catering sales department, that's when I realized the value IHM-A had created.” “I wasn't looked at as just another intern. They said, ‘She is from IHM Auragabad, you can trust her, you can give her responsibility, these people know everything.’" “I was given the liberty to make deals with clients, the power to make decisions. While the other interns were given just odd jobs, I was sent for morning meetings where my opinions mattered a lot. They saw skill, knowledge and responsibility in me since day one, and it was all because of the name IHMA that stood with me.” -

    • Jyotika Singh Rathore

      Intern, Taj Rambagh Palace, Jaipur

"I have always believed that self-transformation commences only with a period of self-questioning.⠀ For me, questions led to more questions, and bewilderment led to new discoveries. This summer a great opportunity came in the form of a short internship with The Taj Rambagh Palace Jaipur. I worked as an intern in the department of Human Resources, where I was a part of numerous activities.⠀ IHM Aurangabad gave me the confidence I needed, and helped me perform to the fullest of my potential.⠀ Right from being involved in the preparations of the prestigious Townhall meetings, to shortlisting probable candidates through telephonic interviews, and taking an active charge in the recruitment process, I was involved in major activities run by the HR department.⠀ This experience gave me a great opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge on the workings of the department that I wish to work with in the near future."⠀

But once the day progressed and I started getting adjusted to how things work in the kitchen I realised that I can do this, I have been prepared for this for the past three years in college. I had a faculty with years of experience between them within the hospitality industry, who had shared their work experiences because of which I already had an idea about what to expect from the industry."
